Ny rapport om distansutbildning vid europeiska universitet

Projektet IDEAL (Impact of Distance Education on Adult Learning) har släppt den första av tre rapporter som undersöker hur distansutbildning från universitet och högskolor har påverkat vuxnas lärande i Europa (se en nyhet från ICDE (International Council for Open and Distance Learning). Projektet är ett samarbete mellan ICDE, UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) och StudyPortals (SP).

Den övergripande fråga för projektet är hur distansutbildningsutbudet från universitet och högskolor kan bättre möta vuxnas behov för kompetensutveckling.

The IDEAL project has been designed to get a better understanding of distance
education offered by higher education institutions and to examine how higher
education institutions can contribute to adult learning by way of distance education.
The project aims to:
  • offer insights on the needs of adult learners to both policy makers and distance education providers;
  • strengthen the social dimension of higher education by better meeting the needs of adult learners; 
  • increase the participation of adult learners in higher education through distance education.
Den första rapporten kartlägger dagens utbud och tänkta målgrupper. Den andra rapporten fokuserar på studenterna: deras profiler, behov och vilka hinder de möter i sina studier. Den tredje rapporten kommer att titta på framtidens studenter, behov och utmaningar.
