Learning analytics inom högre utbildning

Learning analytics handlar om att analysera stora mängder studentdata för att kunna t ex anpassa kursmaterialet efter studentens behov, förebygga problem och avhopp och ge rikare statistik för kvalitetsarbete. Genom att analysera studenternas digitala fotspår får vi kraftfulla verktyg för kursdesign, bedömning och support.

Under de senaste åren har området utvecklats i rask takt och nu publicerar den brittiska organisationen JISC en rapport, Learning analytics in higher education, som sammanfattar utvecklingen och ger konkreta exempel från 11 lärosäten i Storbritannien, USA och Australien.

- This report documents the emerging uses of learning analytics in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. Through a series of eleven case studies it presents an overview of the evidence currently available of the impact that analytics are having on teaching and learning – and highlights some of the opportunities for the UK higher education sector. Given the current focus on teaching excellence in the higher education sector, it will be of interest to policy makers and institutional leaders alike.
